PRISMA is a method to embody the study of social interactions.

Participant-researchers gain insight into processes of participatory sense-making, by engaging in interactive dynamics, refracting them into their constitutive elements, and becoming —themselves— the sophisticated instruments for studying intersubjectivity.

PRISMA can be used in social cognition research to study the experiential dynamics of social interactions, as well as in organizations, where it can support and increase people’s trust and confidence in working together.

origins

The PRISMA method was originated by Barbara Pieper, social scientist and Feldenkrais© practitioner in Munich, and Daniel Clénin, actor and Feldenkrais© practitioner in Bern, in a project of the International Feldenkrais Federation for developing quality and competency in Feldenkrais professional practice.

The practical-theoretical approach of PRISMA also proved suitable for development in diverse professional fields, including science and research.

In 2009, philosopher and cognitive scientist Hanne De Jaegher joined Barbara and Daniel in co-developing PRISMA, in particular in the realm of embodied intersubjectivity research.
